Chiron is known well as the wisest and most learned of the centaurs - famous for his wisdom and knowledge.

Origins

Centaurs were once numerous throughout Arcadia. Chiron is the son of the Titan, Cronus, and Philyra, an Oceanid or sea nymph. His foster father, Apollo, taught the young Chiron many things including the art of medicine, music, hunting, archery, hunting, prophecy and gymnastics, to assist the young centaur in rising above his natural state. In turn, he is famed for teaching Greek heroes such as Jason, Heracles, Achilles and Asclepius.
